Job description

We are looking for an experienced and analytically thinking Inventory Analyst responsible for the accuracy of physical inventory, coordinating cycle counts, and optimizing inventory management processes. You will work largely independently, applying advanced inventory management methods to analyze complex discrepancies, improve warehouse processes, and evaluate ERP data.

Project overview

We are looking for an experienced and analytically thinking Inventory Analyst responsible for the accuracy of physical inventory, coordinating cycle counts, and optimizing inventory management processes within the company.

You will work largely independently, applying advanced inventory management methods to analyze complex inventory discrepancies, improve warehouse processes, and evaluate ERP data.

In doing so, you will act as an important interface between Supply Chain, Quality Management, and Engineering. You will ensure precise inventory reporting and smooth material management for raw materials, work in progress (WIP), and finished goods.

Responsibilities

  • Planning, execution, and optimization of daily and weekly cycle counts based on ABC classification. Analysis of inventory discrepancies, identification of their causes, and adjustment of counting strategies.
  • Independent execution and coordination of physical inventories as part of internal controls and external compliance audits. Evaluation of conflicting inventory data and ensuring complete documentation in the ERP or Warehouse Management System (WMS).
  • Responsibility for the entire MRB (Material Review Board) process. Independent collaboration with Quality Management, Engineering, and Purchasing to analyze non-conforming materials, investigate root causes, and decide on and implement appropriate measures, such as scrapping, rework, or disposal of obsolete component revisions.
  • Design, organization, and optimization of storage locations, shelves, and warehouse structures to improve storage efficiency, material turnover speed, and adherence to 5S principles.
  • Investigation of complex inventory differences, analysis of historical goods movements and system transactions, and development of suitable solutions, even in situations where existing guidelines are not fully applicable.
  • Monitoring of warehouse stocks of raw materials, work in progress (WIP), and finished goods to detect irregularities early, prevent material shortages, reduce excess inventory, and ensure optimal inventory levels.
  • Technical support for adjacent teams, especially with the kitting of materials for production orders and with short-term logistical tasks during production-intensive phases.
  • Continuous monitoring of all inventories to ensure sufficient material availability and to minimize incorrect and excess inventory.
  • Flexible support with kitting activities and minor logistical tasks according to operational requirements.

Requirements

Desirable Additional Qualifications

Framework Parameters:

Your GECO contact person looks forward to hearing from you and receiving your detailed project history as well as your fee/salary/price expectations.

  • Typically 4-6 years of relevant professional experience in inventory control, cycle counting, or inventory analysis. A Bachelor's degree is an advantage; alternatively, equivalent professional experience will be recognized.
  • Proven ability to work largely independently with minimal guidance, and to solve complex and diverse inventory problems through analytical thinking and sound judgment.
  • Confident use of common computer applications, especially Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, and email communication.
  • Sound knowledge of ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, Oracle) and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), as well as demonstrable experience in maintaining complete, accurate, and audit-proof inventory data.
  • Physical resilience, including the ability to lift loads up to approx. 23 kg (50 lbs), safely operate ladders or reach trucks, and work standing for extended periods in a dynamic work environment.
  • Strong attention to detail, basic numerical understanding, and a structured, organized way of working.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, different shift models, overtime, or weekend work if required by production demands.
  • Experience in managing raw materials, work in progress (WIP), and finished goods.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Extensive practical experience with complex inventory postings, reporting, and stock reconciliations within the NetSuite ERP system.
  • Detailed knowledge of electronic components and parts in diverse PCBA (Printed Circuit Board Assembly) manufacturing, especially resistors, capacitors, integrated circuits (ICs), connectors, and different hardware revisions.
  • Practical experience in preparing inventory data for external financial and inventory audits, as well as in directly supporting external financial and inventory auditors.
  • Experience in production environments with high reliability requirements, especially considering standards for aerospace hardware, batch and serial number traceability, ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) protection, FOD (Foreign Object Debris) prevention, and 5S methods.
  • Demonstrable experience in optimizing existing inventory control processes and developing standardized procedures to improve operational workflows.
