Responsibilities

For our client, we are currently looking for an IT/OT Infrastructure Specialist (m/f/d) to support the secure operation and further development of OT networks and IT infrastructure.

The project is planned as full-time and takes place in the Greater NRW area.

• Technical consulting for sites on network connectivity of plants, including network assignment, switching, cabling/fiber optics, security, and remote maintenance access
• Segmentation and hardening of OT networks, as well as setup and maintenance of the OT asset inventory and participation in OT security topics
• Operation, monitoring, and hardening of network, Windows Server, Proxmox, and backup, including evaluation of relevant CVE and security advisories
• Independent implementation of infrastructure projects as well as technical management and quality control of external IT/OT service providers
• Participation in IT/OT risk management according to NIS2 and KRITIS evidence as an interface between site technology, IT, and external partners

Requirements

• Several years of experience in the administration of network and server infrastructure, including switching, VLAN, routing, firewall rulesets, and segmentation
• Practical experience in the industrial or OT environment, e.g., plant networks, PLC/control system connectivity, remote maintenance, or collaboration with plant constructors and integrators
• Confident handling of Windows Server and virtualization
• Very good German and good English language skills
• Driving license class B and willingness to travel to the sites

Nice to have

• OT security knowledge, IEC 62443, and experience with attack detection in the OT environment
• KRITIS, BSI, or NIS2 experience as well as ISO 27001 basics
• Knowledge of industrial protocols such as Profinet, Modbus TCP, or OPC UA
• Experience with Proxmox, Azure, Microsoft 365, Entra ID, as well as PowerShell or Python
• Experience from energy, chemical, utility, tank farm, or logistics sectors, as well as in managing external service providers
