Job description
We are seeking an IT Security Specialist to analyze and secure complex IT systems, develop security policies, and identify/remediate vulnerabilities. The role requires practical experience in system hardening, security concepts, and strong analytical and communication skills.
Project overview
Activity:
- Analysis and evaluation of the IT security of complex IT systems and platforms
- Hardening and securing of operating systems as well as implementation of technical security measures
- Conducting security analyses, vulnerability assessments, and penetration tests
- Development and implementation of security policies, technical procedures, and appropriate protective measures
- Identification, evaluation, and remediation of security vulnerabilities in software products and IT systems
- Analysis and implementation of specified security standards and customer-specific security requirements
- Verification of the effectiveness of implemented security measures and documentation of results
- Support with information security questions as well as awareness training and consulting for relevant contact persons
Requirements
- IT security specialist with practical experience in securing and hardening operating systems
- Experience in implementing technical security measures and handling IT vulnerabilities
- Sound understanding of IT security concepts, security standards, and system architectures
- Analytical and solution-oriented approach to work, as well as the ability to familiarize yourself with complex technical contexts
- Independent, structured, and team-oriented way of working with strong communication skills
- Willingness for continuous professional development
- Completed degree in computer science, training as a specialist in applied computer science (Fachinformatiker), or a comparable qualification
- Demonstrable practical experience in system hardening and securing operating systems, ideally through corresponding job descriptions and references
- Knowledge of relevant IT security standards as well as in the areas of Group Policy, Software Bill of Materials (SBOM), Git, virtualization, and container technologies
- Confident use of scripting languages such as Bash or PowerShell
- Experience with security analyses, vulnerability management, or penetration testing is an advantage
- Very good German and English skills, both written and spoken
