NICOLAI is seeking a JTL-Shop 5 developer to technically maintain and further develop their premium online shop, focusing on frontend customization, plugin integration, server management, and performance optimization.

About NICOLAI
For decades, we have been handcrafting aluminum bikes in Germany: Full suspension, e-MTBs, gravel, and hardtails, made to measure and in your desired color. Our online shop is the core for consultation, configuration, and sales to bike fans in Germany and internationally. We are looking for support for technical further development, who will work with us long-term on a sophisticated premium shop.

- Technical support and further development of our online shop (JTL-Shop 5) including updates and tests
- Frontend adjustments based on our NOVA child template: Smarty, SCSS/CSS, JavaScript
- Further development of our bike configurator and product pages
- Maintenance and expansion of plugins as well as integration of new functions
- Building content pages and landing pages with the OnPage Composer
- Server administration: PHP updates, database (MySQL/MariaDB), backups, SSL, cron jobs
- Performance optimization with a focus on loading times and Core Web Vitals, especially for image- and video-heavy pages
- Technical implementation of SEO, tracking (GTM, GA4, Consent Mode), and product feeds
- Fast error analysis and resolution in live operation, in close coordination with our marketing department
- Several years of experience as a web developer
- Very good knowledge of PHP, Smarty, HTML, SCSS/CSS, and JavaScript
- Confident handling of Linux servers and SQL databases
- Experience with JTL-Shop and JTL-Wawi
- Understanding of usability, conversion, and multilingual shops
- Independent working style and clear communication
- A plus: Experience with product configurators, Consent Mode V2, or Google Tag Manager
- Long-term collaboration with a predictable hourly contingent
- A product with character and a community that loves it
- Short paths and direct contacts from marketing and management
- Remote work
- A test ride on our Factory Test Track is also welcome
