Lead Infrastructure Engineer

Project overview

We are looking for an experienced Lead Infrastructure Engineer to lead the technical implementation of a complex infrastructure transformation and data center migration.

The successful candidate will lead a team of experienced infrastructure engineers and translate the target architecture into a practical, well-estimated, and actionable engineering plan.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate a team of infrastructure engineers, managing workload, priorities, dependencies, and scope of delivery
• Strong technical leadership and guidance to ensure engineering decisions are pragmatic and aligned with the target architecture
• Establish engineering best practices and ways of working to promote quality, repeatability, and automation
• Translate the target architecture into clearly defined engineering packages (compute, storage, databases, network, security, resilience)
• Lead effort estimation, resource planning, and complexity assessment
• Define dependencies and sequencing for integrated program planning
• Monitor progress, risks, and capacities
• Coordinate environment build, configuration, testing, migration, and handover to operations
• Collaborate with architecture, application, database, network, and security teams

Requirements

Contract: 12 months, start as soon as possible, partially on-site required.

• Proven experience in leading infrastructure engineering teams on large transformation or migration projects
• Strong experience in effort estimation, resource planning, and dependency management
• Broad technical understanding of enterprise infrastructure (VMware, servers, storage, backup, network, high-availability)
• Sufficient technical depth to guide experienced engineers
• Strong delivery and stakeholder management skills
