Legal Tech Architect

Project overview

For our client in the professional services sector, we are looking for an experienced Legal Tech Architect. In this key role, you will be responsible for the conception, implementation, and continuous development of a modern Legal Tech and AI landscape.

You will act as the interface between specialist departments, IT, and business stakeholders, translating complex functional requirements into scalable, secure, and future-proof technology solutions. The focus is on the use of Artificial Intelligence, automation, and innovative Legal Tech applications in a demanding regulated environment.

Responsibilities

RequirementsMust-have

• Conception, setup, and further development of a modern Legal Tech and AI system architecture
• Design and implementation of AI-supported solutions based on current LLM technologies
• Development and implementation of RAG architectures, prompt engineering concepts, and AI agent solutions
• Integration of AI platforms, APIs, and data pipelines into existing company processes and specialist applications
• Definition of technical standards, security requirements, and best practices for productive AI use
• Advising internal stakeholders on translating functional requirements into technical architectures
• Evaluation and selection of modern AI and Legal Tech products, as well as creation of well-founded recommendations for action
• Development of Proofs of Concept (PoCs) and support for the transfer into productive operation
• Documentation of architectural decisions and technical concepts
• Co-shaping a long-term transformation and innovation strategy in the area of Legal Tech and AI
• Several years of experience in the Legal Tech, Compliance, Risk, or Professional Services environment
• Several years of experience at the interface of technology, digitalization, and regulated business processes
• Sound experience in the conception and implementation of AI and LLM-based architectures
• Practical software development skills with demonstrable project experience
• Experience in enterprise development environments with:
• Git/GitHub
• Branching strategies and code reviews
• CI/CD pipelines
• Automated testing
• Secure coding & coding best practices
• Experience with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure and/or AWS
• Good knowledge in building API and integration architectures
• Experience in stakeholder management and in communicating complex technical contexts
• Fluent German and very good English skills

Nice to have

• Knowledge of regulatory requirements and governance structures
• Experience with document automation, knowledge management, or contract lifecycle processes
• Experience with GenAI platforms and agentic AI frameworks
