Supplier Manager / Expeditor for Italy

Project overview

For our client in the energy sector, we are looking for an experienced freelancer (m/f/d) for operational supplier management and sustainable performance improvement of a strategically important supplier in Italy.

The focus is on managing a supplier of inverters, where quality, deadline, and project management problems have repeatedly occurred in the past. The goal is to consistently follow up on identified improvement measures, ensure their effectiveness, and sustainably stabilize operational cooperation.

The assignment will be predominantly on-site at the supplier in Italy (approx. 14 days per month) and supplemented by remote work.

• On-site portion: approx. 14 days per month at the supplier
• Remote portion: Support and measure tracking between on-site appointments
• Several years of experience in supplier management, supplier development, or expediting
• Experience in the manufacturing industry or industrial production environment
• Sound knowledge of project management
• Experience in managing international suppliers
• Fluent Italian language skills
• Good English or German language skills
• High willingness to travel for regular on-site assignments in Italy
• Experience in the energy, electrical engineering, or inverter industry
• Experience with supplier audits and measures management
• Knowledge of quality management and production processes
• Experience in escalation and stakeholder management
• Measures Management & Audit Tracking
• Tracking of measures from previously conducted supplier audits
• Ensuring timely implementation of agreed corrective actions
• Conducting effectiveness checks
• Escalation management for delays or deviations
• Regular reporting to relevant stakeholders
• Shop Floor and Production Support
• Analysis of operational processes at the supplier
• Identification of new risks and problem areas in the production environment
• Assessment of the sustainability of implemented measures
• Support in the continuous improvement of manufacturing and supply processes
• Close cooperation with the supplier's production, quality, and logistics departments
• Project Management & Supplier Control
• Analysis and optimization of existing project plans
• Support for the supplier in structuring and managing complex projects
• Monitoring of deadlines, milestones, and dependencies
• Coordination of subcontractors and external partners
• Ensuring transparent and reliable project management
