Linux Enterprise Engineer

Project overview

For a client in Bonn, we are currently looking for a Linux Enterprise Engineer (m/f/d)

Responsibilities

– Analysis and resolution of complex errors and disturbances in enterprise Linux environments

– Planning and implementation of the migration of Linux-based management systems from IPv4 to IPv6

– Analysis and optimization of existing Linux system architectures regarding performance, security, and automation

– Modernization and standardization of existing Linux scripts as well as automation of operational processes using Ansible and Linux scripting

– Introduction and further development of zero-touch automation and DevOps processes

– Conception and implementation of certificate-based authentication, zero trust, and software-defined access

– Analysis and further development of open-source infrastructures (OpenLDAP, Apache Webserver, Apache Tomcat)

– Creation of technical recommendations for action as well as carrying out tests, error analyses, and validations

– Support of migrations, go-lives, and the transfer of new solutions into regular operation

– Creation of technical documentation and operating guides as well as advising project teams on architecture, security, and automation topics

Requirements

– Completed degree in computer science or comparable qualification

– Min. 10 years of experience in the analysis and resolution of complex problems and errors in Linux enterprise environments

– Min. 10 years of experience with enterprise Linux operating systems, especially RHEL (Red Hat Enterprise Linux), CentOS, Fedora, Debian, and SLES (SUSE Linux Enterprise Server)

– Min. 5 years of experience with OpenLDAP in an enterprise environment

– Min. 5 years of experience with open-source technologies, especially Apache Webserver and Apache Tomcat

– Min. 4 years of experience with Ansible, especially the Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform

– Min. 5 years of experience with GitLab and Nexus Repository Manager

– Min. 5 years of experience with Atlassian Jira

– Min. 5 years of experience in the introduction and further development of DevOps methodologies including corresponding tool support

– Min. 1 year of experience with Cisco Splunk

– German language skills at least C1 as well as English language skills at least B1
