Linux System Administrator

Project overview

For an operational IT service in the public sector, we are looking for a medior Linux system administrator.

Profile of the suited interim professional:

• Setting up, managing, and maintaining systems within a large-scale business environment
• Managing systems and supporting the follow-up of customer and supplier support calls
• Working according to ITIL processes, with special attention to change management
• Participating in the planning of data center activities and ICT infrastructure solutions
• Minimum 3 years of experience with Linux system administration in an enterprise environment, preferably with SUSE Linux Enterprise Server
• Experience as a system administrator with setting up, managing, and maintaining systems
• Experience at the system level with at least one specialized domain such as Unix/Linux/Windows, mainframe, middleware, security, network and communication, or generic/specialized systems
• Knowledge of ITIL processes, with a focus on change management
• Experience with Ansible configuration management in an enterprise environment
• Experience with planning data center activities
• Knowledge of ICT infrastructure solutions
• Experience with a Kubernetes platform within a large-scale environment, preferably on-premises
• Experience with Linux scripting in Bash, Python, or Perl
• Experience with system monitoring via Elastic or Nagios
• Experience with network technology within a large-scale environment, such as Cisco ACI, Palo Alto firewalls, or F5 BIG-IP
• Experience with storage solutions within a large-scale environment, such as NetApp AFF, HPE Alletra 9000, or HPE StoreOnce
• Experience with virtualization within a large-scale environment, such as VMware ESX or a comparable solution
