Microsoft Dynamics 365 Solution Architect

Project overview

This contract role is for a senior Microsoft Dynamics 365 Solution Architect responsible for shaping and governing enterprise D365 Finance and Supply Chain Management solutions, including implementation, transformation, and ongoing optimization. Candidates need 15+ years of enterprise applications or ERP experience, at least five years in a solution architecture role, and delivery experience on two or more major ERP implementations or transformation programs.

Core requirements include D365 Finance and SCM process and architecture knowledge, hands-on Power Platform design, and enterprise integration experience with Azure services and APIs. FMCG, food and beverage, CPG, or process manufacturing experience—and experience in global or distributed organizations—are advantageous rather than mandatory. The role is based in India and is contract; the description does not specify whether the work is remote, hybrid, or on-site.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end solution architecture for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Supply Chain Management implementations, enhancements, and transformation initiatives.
• Define scalable, secure, and sustainable solution blueprints aligned with enterprise architecture standards and business objectives.
• Drive solution design across D365 Finance, Supply Chain Management, and integrated Microsoft business applications.
• Conduct business requirements workshops, process assessments, fit-gap analysis, and solution design reviews.
• Recommend standard platform capabilities versus customizations, ensuring a strong fit-to-standard approach.
• Define architecture principles covering security, performance, extensibility, maintainability, scalability, and integration.
• Provide architectural guidance throughout solution design, implementation, testing, deployment, and post-go-live optimization.
• Evaluate the impact of Microsoft platform updates and emerging capabilities on existing architecture.
• Procurement & Sourcing: Purchase requisitions, purchase orders, vendor management, sourcing, procurement workflows, and supplier collaboration.
• Inventory Management: Multi-site inventory, stock transfers, inventory valuation, batch and serial tracking, reservation strategies, and inventory optimization.
• Warehouse Management: Inbound and outbound logistics, warehouse operations, picking, packing, replenishment, and integration with warehouse systems.
• Planning & Forecasting: Demand planning, supply planning, master planning, material requirements planning (MRP), and production scheduling.

Requirements

• 15+ years of enterprise applications or ERP experience, including 5+ years in solution architecture and delivery on at least two major ERP implementations or transformation programs
• Microsoft Dynamics AX / Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations (D365 F&O), including recent cloud solution experience
• Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management architecture and functional process knowledge across procurement, inventory, planning, warehousing, manufacturing, and order management
• D365 Finance architecture and integration with SCM processes, including financial controls and multi-entity or international requirements
• Hands-on Power Platform solution design using Power Apps, Power Automate, and Dataverse, integrated with D365 F&O/SCM
• Enterprise integration architecture using Azure integration services, APIs, D365 data entities, and appropriate integration patterns
• Solution architecture governance covering security, extensibility, data migration, D365 extensions, and delivery/release practices
