Job Title: .NET Technical Lead

We are currently looking for an experienced Freelance .NET Technical Lead to join an agricultural client based in Leuven. This is an exciting opportunity for a technically strong professional to lead the design and development of modern, scalable and secure applications that support the organisation’s business needs.

Combining hands-on development expertise with technical leadership, you will be responsible for translating business requirements into robust technical solutions, defining architectural standards and guiding a team of application engineers throughout the development lifecycle.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in custom application development, extensive knowledge of the Microsoft .NET ecosystem and experience mentoring developers while driving technical excellence and innovation.

Contract Details

• Lead the technical design, architecture and development of custom-built applications.
• Translate business requirements into technical specifications, architectural designs and development frameworks.
• Design and implement scalable, secure and maintainable software architectures, including layered architectures and microservices.
• Provide hands-on technical expertise across front-end, back-end and full-stack development.
• Design, develop and consume RESTful and GraphQL APIs to support integrations between applications and systems.
• Oversee database design and development, working with both relational and NoSQL database technologies.
• Establish and promote development best practices, coding standards and architectural guidelines.
• Mentor junior developers, support knowledge sharing and provide technical guidance to application engineering teams.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, product owners and other technical teams to ensure solutions meet functional and non-functional requirements.
• Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
• Stay up to date with emerging technologies, frameworks and industry best practices to continuously improve the organisation’s application landscape.
• Proven experience in a .NET Technical Lead, Technical Architect or Senior .NET Developer role with technical leadership responsibilities.
• Strong experience in front-end, back-end or full-stack development using technologies such as:
• .NET and C#
• Angular and/or React
• WPF and WCF
• Expertise in designing scalable, secure and maintainable software architectures, including layered architecture and microservices.
• Strong knowledge of relational databases, such as Oracle and PostgreSQL, and NoSQL databases, such as MongoDB.
• Hands-on experience designing, developing and consuming RESTful and GraphQL APIs.
• Broad knowledge of modern frameworks, tools and technologies used in custom application development.
• Ability to translate business requirements into effective technical designs and architecture.
• Experience leading application engineering teams and mentoring junior developers.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• A proactive mindset, with a genuine interest in technological innovation and continuous improvement.
