Network Engineer – Cisco / Fortinet / Firewall / LAN / WAN / Azure

Project overview

For an internationally active industrial company, we are looking for an experienced Network Engineer (m/f/d) to support global network operations and further develop a complex IT network infrastructure.

The focus is on the administration, optimization, and security of existing network environments, as well as the implementation of network projects in an international context.

Responsibilities

Ensuring and optimizing global network operations (LAN, WAN, WLAN)

Planning, installation, configuration, and administration of switches, routers, firewalls, and VPN connections

Analysis and resolution of complex network issues in 2nd and 3rd level support

Administration and further development of network and security solutions, particularly Cisco, Fortinet, and Check Point

Automation of recurring network tasks using Python, PowerShell, and suitable tools

Network monitoring, performance analysis, and error diagnosis

Documentation and maintenance of network architectures, topologies, and technical standards

Support for international IT infrastructure and network projects

Requirements

Several years of practical experience in network engineering and in operating complex enterprise networks

In-depth knowledge of network and security technologies, especially Cisco, Fortinet, and/or Check Point

Very good knowledge of TCP/IP, VLAN, VPN, routing, switching, DHCP, DNS, SNMP, and QoS

Experience with network monitoring and management solutions such as Cisco ISE, WLC, or PRTG

Knowledge of other technologies such as Citrix NetScaler, Ubiquiti, and Microsoft Azure is an advantage

Experience in network automation with Python and/or PowerShell

Structured, analytical, and independent way of working, as well as strong troubleshooting skills

Very good German and English language skills
