Job description
Join a financial institution's network engineering team to design, implement, operate, and continuously improve a high-availability, secure, low-latency network supporting investment and financing activities.
Project overview
Context
The intervention is part of the network engineering team of the Investment and Financing Bank (CIB) of a large financial institution, which is responsible for the architecture, production, supervision, and management of the entire network infrastructure supporting CIB activities across multiple campuses, data centers, and market infrastructure sites. The mission consists of technical support for the design, implementation, operation, and continuous improvement of a highly available, secure, and low-latency network.
Missions
Network Architecture & Design:
The development and documentation of detailed designs for data center, campus, and market infrastructure networks (OSPF, BGP, VxLAN-EVPN, DWDM, multicast, NAT, low latency).
Implementation & Deployment:
The configuration, provisioning, and execution of failover, migration, and upgrade activities with minimal service impact.
Operation & Supervision:
The 24/7 operation of the network, using Zabbix, Grafana, SNMP, and Syslog for network health monitoring and alerts. Conducting root cause analyses of incidents and driving remediation as well as post-incident reviews.
Continuous Improvement:
The definition and monitoring of key performance indicators (KPIs) and service level agreements (SLAs) (latency, availability, jitter, packet loss). Proposing improvements to topology, routing policies, and monitoring tools.
Collaboration & Documentation:
Close collaboration with security, infrastructure, application, and trading teams. Updating network architecture diagrams.
On-call / Incident Management:
