Operational Restructuring Expert in France

Responsibilities

• Analysis of the current organizational structure, cost base, and process landscape in relation to the reduced revenue level
• Identification of structural misalignments between the former and current company size
• Development of a Target Operating Model including organizational structure, headcount, and reporting lines
• Definition of a restructuring roadmap with sequencing, quick wins, and change management aspects
• Creation of the Financial Case with cost savings, one-time restructuring costs, and path to 5 percent EBIT margin from 2027
• Presentation of results and recommendations to management and, if applicable, shareholders or supervisory board
• Creation of a Diagnostic Report on the current organizational and cost status
• Elaboration of the target picture for operating model and organizational design
• Development of a restructuring roadmap with milestones and timeline
• Preparation of a final management presentation

Requirements

• Several years of experience in a recognized strategy consultancy
• At least 3 to 5 completed restructuring projects in an operational/strategic role
• Experience as a project manager or workstream lead in restructuring projects
• Demonstrable strength in organizational design and operating model transformation
• Sound knowledge of the French business and regulatory context or based in France
• Fluent French, spoken and written, is mandatory
• Business English is useful
• Experience in manufacturing or industrial production environments
• Comfortable working directly with owner-managed companies and senior management in the SME sector
• Availability for continuous on-site activity in France

Background of the task:

For our client in the building materials industry, we are looking for a hands-on restructuring expert with strategic know-how. As part of a restructuring program for a French manufacturer of precast concrete elements, a restructuring plan is to be developed and the organizational design adapted to the current company size. The goal is to return to profitable growth from 2027 onwards, including a target picture, roadmap, and financial derivation.
