Operational Tester Core Banking System

Project overview

For a comprehensive modernization project of an established financial service provider, we are looking for an experienced operational tester for quality assurance of a new core banking system.

In this role, you will perform manual tests of the core banking system and adjacent systems and, together with the business departments, ensure functional quality before each release. You will test web interfaces and desktop applications, check interfaces and web services with common tools, and contribute to the setup of test automation. Your tasks include the creation and maintenance of test cases from requirements and user stories, regression, integration, and acceptance tests, as well as defect documentation and retests. You will work closely with business departments and development in an agile team.

We expect a very operational testing resource with several years of sound experience in manual testing. You should have sound knowledge in testing interfaces and web services and be proficient with Postman as a daily tool. Experience in test automation is required. Knowledge of the common Atlassian product suite is necessary. A degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, or a comparable qualification is required, ideally with ISTQB certification. Banking experience and confidence in coordinating with business departments are advantageous.

You should be prepared to work 2 days per week on-site, with increased presence during the onboarding period (approx. 3-4 weeks).

The project starts at short notice and runs until March 2028 with an option to extend. The work location is in North Rhine-Westphalia with a 3-day per week remote possibility.
