• Architecture experience -> several years as a domain or enterprise architect in complex IT landscapes, especially with core banking systems (record keeping, billing, account processing, securities, payment transactions, financing).
• Transformation breadth (client requirement) -> core banking transformations with VARIOUS products across ALL project phases; a single transformation with one product is not sufficient.
• Methodology & Frameworks -> TOGAF, Capability Based Modelling, agile environments (Scrum, SAFe) and common integration patterns.
• Functional breadth -> broad know-how of banking applications, IT solutions, and reference architectures.
• Communication (client requirement) -> age-appropriate from C-level to implementation teams.
• Seniority -> Expert with 8 to 12 years OR Senior Expert from 12 years – tasks and volume identical; indicate level when applying.
• Challenge capability -> critically question standing, requirements, and supplier costs in the RfP – challenger, not a scribe.
• Role understanding -> Consulting in enterprise architecture: structure, challenge, co-decide – no implementation.
• Languages -> German and English C1 each, equally required.

• RfP procedures for core banking platforms including evaluation criteria and cost comparison.
• Exit strategies and dependency management in multi-year replacement programs.

Description

For our end client in the Swiss banking and financial sector, we are looking for an ICT Architect at the Expert or Senior Expert level for the consolidation of core banking systems as follows:

Starting Situation & Mandate:

The end client is running a platform program (approx. six to eight employees) for the consolidation of its core banking systems, closely integrated with the delivery organization. The program is in a formative phase: preparation and execution of an RfP and creation of bank-wide target images. The role is part of the enterprise or application architecture.

Important for selection: Breadth is required. A single core banking transformation with one product is explicitly not sufficient – experience with VARIOUS products across ALL project phases and age-appropriate communication from C-level to implementation teams is required.
