Platform Architect with Architecture Build & Delivery Platform

Project overview

We are looking for an experienced Platform Architect for one of our clients! The ART (Agile Release Train) Capacity Control is responsible for the development, operation, and training of products in the field of automation of operational railway operations. More than 10,000 trains run daily on the Swiss rail network, controlled, monitored, and optimized automatically with our products. In this complex and highly exciting environment, existing railway-critical products are further developed to further optimize and automate rail traffic.

With 10 agile teams, the capacity control product range is managed end-to-end from conception to operation together with the business. This in the context of highly available and railway-critical systems and their future-oriented further development. All this without affecting operations, so that the primary priority "Bahn im Griff" (Control of the Railway) can be sustainably ensured. Many exciting challenges await us in a very close-to-rail-production environment. The application landscape around railway production is being modularized and technically modernized.

The Platform Team is responsible for the build & CI environment as well as the delivery pipeline for Spring Boot applications on OpenShift and continuously develops the established target platform and its delivery processes. For this role, we are looking for an experienced platform architect who has already conceptualized and further developed platforms for several teams and can take over architectural responsibility for our build, CI/CD, and delivery landscape. Experience with shared platforms and cross-functional standards and solutions is crucial.

The role combines architectural responsibility with active technical involvement. You develop target visions and concepts, make and moderate architectural decisions, and at the same time work on the implementation yourself. You conceptualize, implement, test, and improve platform functions, build and CI tooling, pipelines, and automations. You are close to the code and the technical challenges of the team. You shape the technical roadmap and work closely with PO, ART, development teams, operations, security, and architecture stakeholders.
