For projects in the North region, Gasunie is looking for a PMO professional who creates overview in complex projects, is strong analytically, works accurately, and translates project information into reliable management information.

The focus is on supporting and strengthening projects by organizing processes, analyses, and reports effectively. This helps project management and project teams make informed decisions and contributes to the professional realization of Gasunie's energy infrastructure.

Project details

Groningen, as a base for projects in the North region. Partial remote work is possible in consultation.

€98.25 to €102.50

Employment - Salary scaling in accordance with the applicable CAO.

Freelancer - Based on a contract of assignment.

There is a clear assignment description with concrete deliverables;

The engagement must comply with the current DBA guidelines.

When hiring through a supplier, the agreed rates and conditions apply in accordance with the mediation agreement. Employed candidates will be scaled according to the applicable CAO.

Activities

The activities take place within a complex project environment where collaboration, transparency, and a structured approach are essential. The PMO professional monitors the coherence of project information and provides reliable management information on time, budget, risks, and scope. This is done in close collaboration with project managers, project control, business control, and other disciplines within the projects.

The activities include:

Setting up, updating, and monitoring progress, risk, and financial reports.

Translating project data and substantive information into clear analyses, dashboards, and management information.

Checking project data for completeness, accuracy, and mutual consistency.

Identifying deviations and bottlenecks and proactively advising on corrective actions and adjustments.

Facilitating and further improving PMO processes, reports, templates, and tools.

Ensuring that agreed PMO processes are applied uniformly within projects.

Monitoring changes in time, budget, organization, information, quality, and scope.

Making dependencies between projects transparent and monitoring them.

Supporting the governance and decision-making structure within projects.

Preparing and facilitating meetings, workshops, and other internal information sessions.

Documenting and sharing lessons learned and contributing to continuous improvement.

Supporting management as a sounding board and by preparing decision-making substantively and organizationally.

Knowledge and Experience

A completed Bachelor's degree, preferably supplemented with a Master's degree, in e.g., (technical) business administration, engineering, finance, project management, or a similar field.

Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in PMO, project control, or project support within a complex project environment.

Demonstrable experience with project processes such as reporting, planning, and resource management.

An IPMA-D, PRINCE2 Foundation, or comparable project management certification, or the willingness to obtain one.

Experience with reporting tools and project software, such as Power BI, Excel, Microsoft Project, and SAP.

Experience with large investment projects, business development, financial processes, or business control is a plus.

Excellent command of the Dutch language, both spoken and written.

The work requires strong analytical and numerical insight, the ability to distinguish between main and minor issues, and a proactive, structured, and accurate working method. Communication skills and a connecting approach are important for coordination with project teams, management, and other stakeholders, even with differing interests. Furthermore, solution-oriented work under time pressure, a hands-on mentality, and the continuous search for smarter and more reliable processes are important.

Project Management North realizes and supports projects for the energy infrastructure in the North of the Netherlands and beyond where necessary. Within the department, professionals in project management, construction management, and project support collaborate on new construction, renovation, and change projects.

We combine entrepreneurship with professional project control. This means we steer on scope, quality, planning, risks, contracts, and finances, and we continuously work on predictable and transparent project execution.
