Policy Advisor Sustainability (Interim)

Project overview

The assignment focuses on advancing various sustainability and climate tasks for the municipality of Dongen.

Profile of the suited interim professional:

• Manage the execution of the KRW Action Program after administrative approval and monitor progress and agreements
• Further develop municipal climate policy and translate national, provincial, and regional developments into local policy
• Prepare policy proposals, administrative advice, and decision-making documents
• Advance the substantive and procedural elaboration of the Vision for the Donge and organize stakeholder coordination
• Represent Dongen within REKS Climate and translate regional agreements into executable municipal actions
• Evaluate the current approach to energy poverty and develop a new municipal strategy
• Develop a proposal for the structure and governance of an Energy House Dongen in coordination with regional partners and Cooperative Energy Dongen
• Write executive and council proposals and advise management, portfolio holder, and administration
• At least 5 years of work experience as a policy advisor in a municipality
• Demonstrable knowledge of and experience with energy transition, climate policy, and sustainability issues
• Experience advising administrators within a political-administrative context
• Experience with regional collaborations
• Experience independently leading policy processes, from analysis phase to decision-making
• Well-developed communication skills and the ability to connect people
• Politically and administratively sensitive, decisive, and organizationally sensitive
