Project Architect Digitalization

Project overview

As a project architect, you will contribute to the digitalization efforts of Leiden University within the architecture team of the Information Management Directorate.

Profile of the suited interim professional:

• Designing project start architectures, target architectures, architectural decisions, and solution directions for projects within education, research, and operations
• Verifying whether project initiatives align with university-wide EA principles, standards, laws and regulations, privacy, and information security
• Identifying opportunities for harmonization, standardization, reuse, autonomy, AI, and cloud solutions across domains
• Visualizing the coherence between processes, data, information flows, and ICT systems
• Preparing impact analyses, architectural decisions (ADRs), and transition paths from the current to the desired situation
• Guiding project teams and suppliers in implementation according to the established architectural frameworks
• Identifying dependencies, synergies, and risks between projects and contributing to the further development of the architecture team
• HBO or WO work and thinking level
• Extensive experience as a project, solution, or information architect in complex organizations with diverse stakeholders
• Experience in translating strategic digitalization issues into applicable project and solution architectures
• Experience in documenting architectural choices (e.g., via ADRs), supplemented with knowledge of architecture frameworks and modeling standards such as TOGAF and ArchiMate
• Insight into process design, data governance, and modern IT landscapes such as integrations, APIs, and cloud/SaaS
• Fluent command of both Dutch and English
• Experience in higher education or government is a recommendation
