Project Manager – Advanced Airport Solutions | Växjö

Project overview

We are now looking for an experienced Project Manager at Level 4 for an exciting consultancy assignment with our client in Växjö. The client is a leading technology company in the defense and security industry that develops advanced technical solutions for, among other things, airports worldwide.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to lead complex, international projects within advanced airport systems, where innovative technology and system integration are central. You will work closely with both technical specialists and customers to ensure successful project deliveries.

About the assignment

As a Project Manager, you are responsible for planning, leading, and following up on national and international projects within advanced airport solutions. You will lead a cross-functional team consisting of system engineers, installers, and purchasers and are responsible for delivering projects according to agreed budget, schedule, and scope.

The projects cover the entire system lifecycle, from requirements management and documentation to testing, validation, configuration, installation, and commissioning at the customer's site.

Responsibilities

Leading and coordinating complex technical projects with national and international customers.

Responsibility for project budget, schedule, scope of delivery, and follow-up.

Coordinating cross-functional teams with system engineers, installers, and purchasers.

Ensuring that project requirements management, documentation, testing, validation, installation, and commissioning are carried out as planned.

Maintaining ongoing customer dialogue regarding project status, dependencies, deliveries, and milestone payments.

Collaborating closely with leading system engineers to understand and manage technical challenges.

Building and maintaining long-term relationships with customers, end-users, developers, and other stakeholders.

The assignment involves advanced system solutions for airports, such as technology that enables remote control of airport towers (Digital Tower).

The role involves international contacts and travel to airports around the world.

Requirements

To be considered for the assignment, you must meet the following:

8–12 years of relevant full-time experience in the relevant field.

At least 8 years of documented experience in project management.

A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or a corresponding technical field.

Experience in planning, prioritizing, and driving projects towards set goals, even when schedules are affected by external factors.

Ability to lead and coordinate cross-functional project teams.

Good ability to communicate in Swedish and English, both orally and in writing.

Ability to adapt working methods and priorities according to changed project conditions.

Good collaboration skills and a solution-oriented approach.

Availability and willingness to travel internationally within the scope of the assignment.

Ability to undergo and be approved for the required security vetting before the assignment begins.

Meritorious

Experience in project management within complex technical systems and system integration.

Experience with software-based systems in combination with hardware.

Technical understanding that enables dialogue with system engineers regarding technical solutions and challenges.

Experience with international projects and customer-facing deliveries.

Valid driver's license (Class B).

Security vetting: Approved security vetting is required before start, including the required RK. The assignment presupposes approved vetting. Depending on the security classification, special citizenship requirements may apply.
