Job description

Seeking an experienced Project Manager with a focus on Archaeology and Civil Engineering for a large, long-term infrastructure project involving high-voltage power grids and archaeological concerns related to civil engineering measures.

Project overview

For a long-term major infrastructure project in the field of energy transition and high-voltage grid expansion, we are looking for an experienced Project Manager (m/f/d) with a focus on Archaeology and Civil Engineering. The project focuses on the technical management of archaeological concerns in connection with planned civil engineering measures along a route in cable and pipeline construction.

Your responsibilities include the overall management and coordination of archaeological preliminary investigations, scheduling coordination of various trades, and interface management within the overall project. You will work closely with authorities, monument protection agencies, archaeological specialist firms, and civil engineering partners. Furthermore, you will evaluate archaeological findings in relation to construction processes, advise on technical and organizational issues, and support project-related decision-making processes such as route planning and construction methods.

Documentation, reporting, and close collaboration with project management and permitting management are also part of your responsibilities.

We expect a degree in civil engineering or a comparable field, as well as several years of experience in project management of civil engineering or linear infrastructure projects. Experience in communication with authorities and stakeholder management is required. Ideally, you have experience with monument law issues, archaeology, or permitting processes. Very good German language skills and willingness to travel are necessary.

The project offers a long-term perspective with a mix of remote work, on-site appointments, and travel. The planned start is from 2026 with a project duration of 24 months.
