Project Manager Avionics Systems C/D

Project overview

As a project manager within Avionics Systems C/D, part of Business Unit Gripen, you will be responsible for driving, planning, leading, and following up on a project or assignment. The focus will be on assignments within software development for embedded systems. You are responsible for time, economy, and quality in the project and report to a steering committee. We work with the products throughout their entire lifecycle from concept to maintenance of deployed products.

Our projects are development projects where work from requirements, design, implementation, integration, verification, and validation is included. We are looking for a documented senior project manager, preferably with experience of operating systems and platform-close software. The work involves:

• Leading, planning, and coordinating the development project and its resources and execution
• Coordinating activities within architecture, software development, work with tools and development environments, integration, test and verification and validation and declaration of system safety-critical system.
• Ensuring effective collaboration between development teams, operations, test organization, and other stakeholders
• Following up on the project's schedule, budget, risks, and deliveries
• Managing requirements, technical risks, milestones, and delivery plan
• Leading development teams in different locations and coordinating activities
• Reporting status, risks, and managing deviations to the steering committee and management

Requirements

We are looking for you who have several years of experience in project management within software development. Good understanding of platform-close software and operating systems, experience in system integration and verification of complex systems. You are analytical, structured, and have the ability to create progress.

You need to be able to combine your ability as a project manager with a sufficiently good technical understanding to challenge, prioritize, and make well-founded decisions together with the development teams and other parts of the business. As a person, you have good communication skills. It is an advantage if you have several years of experience in project management within the defense, aviation, or other high-tech industry. To thrive with us, you need to be curious and open to different types of assignments.

Sometimes you lead a project and have overall responsibility, sometimes you lead part of a project or are responsible for a calculation or preliminary study.

Your placement is in Stockholm, initially in Järfälla, but a move to new premises in Solna Strand will take place during the year. You have colleagues in both Linköping and Stockholm.

The position requires that you undergo and are approved according to the applicable provisions for security protection at any given time.
