Project Manager for Data Center Strategy and Hybrid IT Infrastructures

Project overview

For our client from the public sector, we are looking for a Project Manager to prepare a project for the modernization and resilient design of the data center infrastructure. The focus is on project setup, creation of approval documents, and coordination of the involved architecture and business departments.

The client plans to modernize its IT infrastructure and increase availability in the data center environment. Existing data center infrastructures and cloud-based architectures are to be integrated into a common target state. The focus is on resilient structures through geo-redundancy and/or cloud usage.

Regulatory requirements from KRITIS, NIS2, and the Energy Efficiency Act (EnEfG) as well as requirements from ISO 27001 and BSI IT Basic Protection must be taken into account.

The assignment includes supporting project management during project preparation. The goal is complete approval documents and reliable foundations for financing, costs, resources, deadlines, and subsequent implementation.

Responsibilities

• Support for project management in planning, coordination, and control of project preparation
• Establishment of a coordinated project management framework as a basis for control, reporting, and acceptance
• Coordination with enterprise architecture, project management support, project management, and business departments
• Creation of complete project approval documents according to customer-specific standards and preparation of the co-signing and approval process
• Compilation of information for the economic feasibility study (WiBe) and the projected financing and cost framework
• Creation and maintenance of schedule, milestone, and resource planning
• Coordination of contributions from enterprise architecture and ensuring their timely and quality-compliant integration into project documents
• Identification, coordination, and maintenance of relevant project interfaces
• Stakeholder and communication management as well as preparation and support of committee work
• Recording, evaluation, and documentation of risks, assumptions, open issues, and decisions, including associated measures
• Coordination of acceptances as well as the execution, review, and release of cost and effort estimates
• Preparation of the formal completion of project preparation and structured handover of results to the implementation project
