Project Manager – S/4HANA Upgrade

Project overview

For one of our clients, we are looking for an experienced and assertive IT Project Manager to support an upgrade project within an SAP S/4HANA system landscape.

Responsibilities

• Methodical and operational project management within the scope of an SAP S/4HANA upgrade
• Steering and coordination of ongoing project activities as well as ensuring on-time implementation
• Creation, maintenance, and tracking of project plans, milestones, and work packages
• Active project controlling including progress monitoring, risk, and escalation management
• Central interface between technical SAP teams, business departments, and relevant stakeholders
• Translation of complex technical issues into understandable decision-making bases for non-technical contacts
• Preparation and moderation of project meetings as well as follow-up of open points and decisions
• Early identification of obstacles and proactive development of suitable solutions
• Critical questioning of existing procedures and ensuring transparent project communication

Requirements

• Several years of experience in operational IT project management, ideally in the SAP environment
• Good fundamental understanding of SAP system landscapes and IT transformation or upgrade projects
• Sound knowledge of classic project management methods, project controlling, and stakeholder management
• Strong communication skills and experience in collaborating with technical and non-technical stakeholders
• High level of initiative, assertiveness, and a structured, solution-oriented way of working
• Ability to quickly grasp complex contexts, critically question them, and drive decisions
• Proactive hands-on mentality and willingness to take responsibility for open issues
• Very good German and English skills
