Job description
The municipality of Tilburg is looking for an experienced Project Manager for Urban Development to lead the Reitse Campus project within the Kenniskwartier area. This role involves managing complex spatial development projects with significant social impact and stakeholder engagement.
Project overview
For the municipality of Tilburg, YER is looking for a Project Manager Urban Development Reitse Campus Kenniskwartier
The position
Are you an experienced project manager who thrives on assignments where social impact, adding value, and realizing beautiful spatial projects are central? Do you have experience working in an environment where residents, developers, housing corporations, and the municipality truly collaborate to further develop areas? Then the role of Project Manager Urban Development offers all the ingredients for a new challenge.
You will work area-specifically on various urban development projects within the municipality, with the Kenniskwartier being an important and prominent assignment for you. In the coming years, you will primarily be active in this area, but you will also contribute to other area developments and spatial projects.
What will you do?
The development of the Reitse Campus is a prominent area development within the Kenniskwartier in Tilburg West. Tilburg West is on the eve of a major transformation. In the Kenniskwartier, a designated National large-scale housing development area and part of the NPLV area Tilburg North-West, we are realizing over 7,500 new homes and 90,000 m² of social and economic functions. We also want to improve the living environment and stimulate sustainable mobility.
To achieve our ambitions, we work together with a large number of parties such as developers, landowners, educational institutions, local residents, and the national government.
In the coming years, we will develop the Reitse Campus into a vibrant residential and work area with over 2,000 predominantly affordable homes. As a connection between Tilburg station and the university campus, a highly urban district aimed at young professionals will be created. The public space will be car-light, and parking will be in parking hubs. We are developing the area in phases, together with residents, entrepreneurs, and other partners in Tilburg West.
The preliminary design urban plan (VOSP) and the construction and image quality plan have been drawn up, agreements with developers, landowners, and retailers are being finalized, and planning procedures are in preparation. The complexity of the Reitse Campus area development is high due to the number and diversity of interests (local residents, educational institutions, university, commercial developers, housing corporation, politics). We are looking for a project manager who, together with the core team and fellow project manager(s), will steer the development of the Reitse Campus.
