Job description

The COA (Central Agency for the Reception of Asylum Seekers) is looking for two Real Estate Directors for Development to manage the process from feasibility studies to realization for emergency shelter locations. This role involves extensive collaboration with internal and external partners.

Project overview

Are you a driven real estate director who can translate complex development tasks into successful real estate projects with social added value?

The Position

For the COA, they are looking for 2 real estate directors for development for 36 hours per week.

At the Central Agency for the Reception of Asylum Seekers (COA), they work every day to provide safe and humane reception for asylum seekers in the Netherlands. Because their regular asylum seeker centers (AZC) do not always offer enough space, they also set up emergency reception locations. These are temporary locations that must be realized at lightning speed. For this challenging and socially relevant task, they are looking for several real estate directors for development with a heart for real estate and for people.

You will lead the process from feasibility study to realization, in close collaboration with internal colleagues and external partners. And whether you work in the North, Middle, or South of the Netherlands: your work makes a direct impact. Join a committed team that is passionately dedicated to our target group. Will you help build with them?

About the Company

Where will you work?

The Emergency Reception team consists of about 20 colleagues who know how to get things done and keep working towards the set goal. You will also work closely with real estate directors from other teams. You will visit various locations to see if they are (or can be made) suitable as intended reception locations.

You will also have many consultations, hybrid or on-site, with a team you will assemble yourself, consisting of internal COA representatives and external advisors, such as architects, installation/building physics advisors, construction cost experts, and structural engineers, but coordination with municipalities, for example with project leaders or plan reviewers from the physical domain, is also part of it.

You will largely work in your own region (Middle) and as a team, we will meet on average once a month in the Utrecht region.
