Project overview

Contract Role: Digital Transformation Strategist Corporate Website Competitive Assessment Level: Manager / Senior Strategist equivalent Allocation: ~20 hours/week Engagement: 8 weeks (looking to start 11/2 or 11/9) Location: Remote Who we need Our consulting client is looking for a sr. digital transformation or digital experience strategist who is strong in competitive assessment, future-state digital strategy, trend analysis and executive synthesis to support a strategic assessment for their client. This is not a UX research or usability-testing role and is not primarily focused on optimizing today's UI.

The client will be using the assessment to understand how corporate digital experiences are evolving and what their website should become over the next 3-5 years. The strategist will help establish the future-state ambition, define the benchmark framework, evaluate healthcare and cross-industry signals, and translate the evidence into prioritized opportunities. What this person will own

  • Future-state framing: Help articulate the now to future ambition for the website, including its role for priority audiences and the experience outcomes the client should be working toward.
  • Benchmark strategy: Define the questions, experience/capability dimensions and evidence criteria that will guide the competitive assessment.
  • Competitive + trend analysis: Lead assessment of relevant healthcare, non-healthcare and emerging digital experiences to identify meaningful patterns and 3-5 year signals.
  • Strategic synthesis: Work with analysts and SMEs to turn a large body of competitive, experience, technical and search/AEO/GEO evidence into clear implications.
  • Opportunity prioritization: Translate findings into a portfolio of opportunities the client can Act Now, Build Toward, Explore/Test or Monitor, rather than a detailed implementation roadmap. Experience we're looking for
  • 7-10+ years of relevant experience in experience strategy, digital strategy, innovation strategy or adjacent consulting roles.
  • Experience leading competitive assessments / benchmarking that go beyond visual or heuristic UX audits.
  • Strong future-state strategy skills, including translating trends and emerging capabilities into practical implications for a client.
  • Experience defining assessment frameworks, strategic lenses or evaluation criteria rather than simply executing against a predetermined checklist.
  • Ability to conduct and synthesize secondary research, trends, competitive intelligence and qualitative evidence.
  • Experience with complex corporate or enterprise websites, especially experiences serving multiple stakeholder groups.
  • Ability to connect the needs of audiences such as investors, healthcare/scientific professionals, policymakers/regulators, media and the public into an experience strategy.
  • Strong executive storytelling and PowerPoint skills, with demonstrated ability to turn disparate evidence into a concise, defensible strategic narrative.
  • Strong workshop/facilitation capability, particularly around vision, strategic alignment, prioritization and decision-making.
  • Comfortable partnering with technical architecture, analytics, SEO/AEO/GEO/Search and business-analysis SMEs without needing to be the hands-on expert in each discipline. Strongly preferred
  • Healthcare, pharma, medtech or another highly regulated / high-trust industry
  • Corporate digital experience strategy rather than primarily product/app UX
  • Work involving emerging digital capabilities, AI-enabled experiences or shifts in digital discovery
  • Consulting or agency experience working directly with senior client stakeholders
  • Examples where the candidate personally developed the strategic recommendation, not just conducted the underlying research In this position, you may have access to client or customer systems, confidential and/or proprietary information or data. Benefits
