Remote Fullstack Developer (Java / Spring Boot / React) – Focus Backend

Responsibilities

For a demanding project in a modern, technology-driven environment, we are looking for an experienced Senior Fullstack Developer with a focus on Java backend. You will work in an international, predominantly remote development team and be significantly involved in the development, integration, and advancement of complex software solutions.

• Development and advancement of scalable backend services with Java and preferably Spring Boot
• Conception and implementation of modern fullstack applications with a backend focus
• Development and integration of REST APIs and interfaces to existing systems
• Contribution to the design and advancement of microservices architectures
• Integration of relational databases and NoSQL databases (MongoDB)
• Support in frontend development, ideally with React
• Setup and optimization of CI/CD pipelines as well as containerized applications
• Ensuring high software quality through automated unit, integration, and end-to-end tests
• Conducting code reviews, performance optimizations, and static code analyses
• Close collaboration with a distributed, agile development team

Requirements

• At least 5 years of professional experience in backend development with Java
• Profound experience with Java, ideally Spring Boot
• Good fullstack knowledge and practical experience in frontend development
• Demonstrable experience in system integration and development of complex enterprise applications
• Knowledge of relational databases as well as MongoDB
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and modern CI/CD processes
• Experience with unit tests, integration tests, and automated quality assurance
• Understanding of modern software architectures, especially microservices
• Knowledge of authentication and authorization (OAuth2, JWT) as well as secure software development
• Very good German language skills
• Analytical mindset, independent working style, and strong teamwork skills
• Frontend development with React (nice-to-have)
• Experience with Red Hat OpenShift or comparable cloud platforms (nice-to-have)
• CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, and ArgoCD (nice-to-have)
• Test automation with Cucumber and Cypress (nice-to-have)
• Event-driven architectures and Apache Kafka (nice-to-have)
• Monitoring and logging with ELK Stack or Dynatrace (nice-to-have)
• Infrastructure as Code with Terraform or Ansible (nice-to-have)
