Project overview

For our client, we are looking for support in SAP authorization management within an S/4HANA landscape.

The assignment has two main focuses. On the one hand, it involves the daily tasks: user creation, changes, and role assignments to ensure ongoing operations. On the other hand, it involves contributing to the rebuilding of the role concept. The existing roles, which have evolved over time, are too broadly defined across business units and are to be gradually replaced by a new, audit-proof role model. A uniform naming concept is in place, and implementation is starting now.

The team is small and works closely together. The authorization rebuild is supported by a consulting firm.

We are looking for a communicative expert who can independently clarify requirements with business units and key users and advocate for their assessments. The role is designed to be implementation-oriented: reliable work in day-to-day business is crucial, not conceptual depth or project management experience.

• User creation and changes via the implemented Identity Governance platform
• Assignment and adjustment of roles based on business requirements
• Analysis of existing usage as a basis for new role designs
• Contribution to the creation of master roles and their location-specific derivations
• Documentation and support of role tests with key users
• Gradual replacement of existing roles
• Practical experience in SAP user and authorization administration
• Experience with master and derived roles
• Confident use of PFCG, SU01, SU24, and authorization traces for analyzing actual usage
• Experience in S/4HANA environments
• Advantageous: Experience with the APM Suite or comparable tools for automated role derivation
• Advantageous: Basic understanding of Identity and Access Management systems. Having experienced a platform in use is sufficient; long-term specialization is explicitly not required
• Advantageous: Fiori authorizations, catalogs, and combined roles from Fiori and GUI components
• German language skills at a fluent level
• Project or sub-project managers without operational involvement
• Pure conception and architecture profiles
• ABAP developers
• SAP Basis administrators without an authorization focus
