SAP PLM / PSM Consultant – Product Structure Management

For one of our clients, we are urgently seeking an experienced SAP PLM / PSM consultant for functional and technical support of a prototype in the SAP ECC environment. The focus is on mapping product structures and their integration into a solution for providing maintenance information for an external tool.

Project Framework Data

Our client is developing a prototype to transfer maintenance plans from SAP ECC to an external tool via an interface. The mapping of maintenance plans is already being handled by an SAP consultant.

Additionally, SAP Product Structure Management (PSM) is to be integrated into the overall solution. The goal is to analyze, functionally and technically design, and prototypically map the relevant product structures and their relationships with the maintenance information.

The sought-after consultant will take over the PSM-focused part and work closely with the existing SAP consultant and the responsible parties for the external tool. The prototype serves as the basis for evaluating a subsequent implementation project.

Responsibilities

• Analysis of existing product structures and relevant SAP PLM/PSM processes in the SAP ECC system
• Recording and concretization of PSM requirements for the prototype
• Design and prototypical implementation of the required product structures, including relevant product positions and position variants
• Consideration of structure hierarchies, material assignments, and, if applicable, relationship knowledge according to the use case
• Investigation and design of the link between product structures and the maintenance information used in the project
• Coordination with the existing SAP consultant for maintenance planning
• Definition of PSM-required data and functional assignments for the interface to the external tool
• Support during integration and execution of end-to-end functional tests
• Documentation of the solution, assessment of technical feasibility, and derivation of recommendations for the follow-up project

Requirements

Advantageous

• Sound practical project experience with SAP Product Structure Management (PSM) in the SAP PLM environment
• Very good knowledge of SAP ECC
• Experience with the creation and maintenance of multi-level product structures, product positions, and position variants
• Understanding of the relationships between product structures, master material data, and bills of materials
• Experience in the functional and technical design and prototypical implementation of SAP solutions
• Good understanding of SAP interfaces, data assignments, and the integration of external systems
• Ability to independently concretize requirements and translate them into an implementable solution
• Independent, structured way of working and confident coordination with functional and technical contacts
• Knowledge in SAP PM (Plant Maintenance), especially maintenance plans and technical objects
• Experience with linking product structure and maintenance data
• Knowledge in relationship modeling, variant configuration, and simulation of product structures
• Experience with product structure synchronization and transfer into material bills of materials
• ABAP knowledge for evaluating required enhancements and interfaces
