Scala Developer - Active SC Clearance
£605 per day - Inside IR35
Remote - Must be UK based
6 Months
We are currently seeking an experienced Scala Developer to join a high-profile Government programme supporting critical work across the Government Gateway and Fraud Prevention Centre. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to nationally important digital services used by millions of UK citizens.
Working within a live services and run team, you will help deliver enhancements, support production systems, and build scalable microservices in a collaborative Agile environment.
Key Responsibilities
Essential Skills & Experience
- Design, develop and enhance Scala-based microservices, typically using the Play Framework
- Build high-quality Back End services and APIs following modern engineering best practices
- Collaborate closely with developers, testers, product owners and wider Agile delivery teams
- Write clean, maintainable and thoroughly tested code
- Support production services throughout the software lifecycle, troubleshooting and resolving issues where required
- Contribute to continuous improvement and Agile delivery practices
- Strong commercial experience developing applications using Scala
- Solid understanding of functional programming principles and patterns
- Experience building and supporting microservices architectures
- Proven experience working within Agile delivery environments
- Strong focus on code quality, testing and best practice development standards
- Active SC Clearance is required
