Senior Advisor Corporate Control (interim)

Project overview

You will strengthen the financial management, internal control, and legality of the organization.

Profile of the suited interim professional:

• Identifying and assessing strategic, financial, and organizational risks in projects, investments, and affiliated parties
• Advising on the manageability of tasks and the design of governance and responsibilities
• Acting as a critical sparring partner for the executive board, management, and board
• Strengthening the P&C (Performance & Control) cycle, including budgeting, board reports, and annual accounts
• Advising on financial management information, budget control, and financial sustainability
• Translating policy objectives into available resources and results
• Contributing to the professionalization of internal control and legality accountability
• Evaluating the management letter and annual account findings and translating them into improvement measures
• Monitoring progress and ensuring structural embedding of improvements
• Collaborating with the advisor for internal control and legality
• Updating financial regulations and policy frameworks in accordance with applicable laws and regulations, including the BBV (Besluit Begroting en Verantwoording Provincies en Gemeenten)
• Completed education in accountancy and/or controlling, at least at HBO bachelor level
• Minimum of 5 years of work experience as a control advisor or in a comparable role
• Minimum of 3 years of experience with municipal finances and the BBV
• Minimum of 2 years of work experience with P&C products within a municipality
• Strong stakeholder management skills
• Experience in guiding employees and teams
• Analytical ability to translate complex financial data into clear management information
• Political sensitivity within a municipal context
