Senior AI Engineer / AI Solution Architect - AI-based Pricing

Project overview

The objective of the assignment is the independent conception and implementation of an initial production-near AI use case for pricing.

Background

An experienced Senior AI Engineer (m/f/d) or AI Solution Architect (m/f/d) is sought for the conception and implementation of an AI-based pricing tool.

The goal of the project is to develop a solution that can determine suitable prices based on existing company, product, and transaction data and then transfer them to the existing ERP system.

The company primarily operates in a Microsoft environment. Azure Databricks is already being used for data processing and provision. The existing team has in-depth knowledge of data and Databricks. Therefore, a pure data analytics profile is explicitly not sought, but rather a senior expert with proven experience in the productive implementation of AI applications.

Responsibilities

• Analysis and concretization of the planned AI pricing use case
• Structured recording of business influencing factors for pricing
• Evaluation of available data regarding quality, significance, and suitability for the use case
• Identification of relevant data sources from ERP, product, customer, sales, and transaction systems
• Development of a suitable solution architecture within the existing Microsoft and Databricks environment
• Selection and evaluation of suitable AI or machine learning methods for price determination
• Development of a prototypical pricing model
• Definition of comprehensible evaluation and success criteria for model quality
• Technical validation of the solution approach using selected products, assortments, or business scenarios
• Conception of the technical transfer of price recommendations to the existing ERP system
• Development of suitable mechanisms for monitoring model quality and price recommendations
• Definition of a comprehensible release and control process for AI-generated price proposals
• Development of an operational and further development concept for the AI solution
• Establishment of suitable development, testing, and production processes
• Documentation of the architecture, model logic, interfaces, and operational processes

Requirements

Particularly desirable:

• Several years of project experience as a Senior AI Engineer, AI Solution Architect, Machine Learning Engineer, or in a comparable implementation role
• Proven experience in the development of production-near or productive AI applications
• Very good knowledge of Azure Databricks
• Experience with the conception and implementation of machine learning or AI solutions in a Microsoft Azure environment
• In-depth knowledge of model development and operationalization
• Experience with MLOps, model versioning, deployment, and monitoring
• Experience with Azure DevOps and suitable CI/CD processes
• Practical experience with Jira
• Experience in integrating AI solutions into existing business or ERP processes
• Ability to translate business requirements into a viable technical architecture
• Experience with structured company, product, or transaction data
• Very good programming skills, especially in Python and SQL
• Experience with Git-based version control
• Very good written and spoken German and English skills
• Experience with AI-supported pricing, pricing optimization, or dynamic pricing
• Project experience in retail, wholesale, or comparable industries
• Experience with ERP-integrated AI applications
• Knowledge of pricing processes, margin control, or sales forecasts
• Experience with explainable AI models and the comprehensible presentation of price recommendations
• Knowledge of MLflow, Unity Catalog, and Databricks Workflows
• Experience with feature engineering, feature stores, and model monitoring
• Experience in setting up human-in-the-loop processes
• Knowledge of data governance as well as role and authorization concepts
• Ability to evaluate current developments in the AI field regarding their practical benefit for the company
