Senior AI Engineer (Python, PostgreSQL, PGVector, LLMs, RAG, LangGraph/LangChain)

Project overview

Dear Sir or Madam,

For an exciting project in the enterprise AI environment, we are looking for an experienced Senior AI Engineer (m/f/d) to support a DevOps team in the development and operation of a productive, AI-powered SaaS platform.

The focus is on the development of modern AI applications, the integration of Large Language Models (LLMs), RAG architectures, and the implementation of agent-based AI solutions (Agentic AI).

Responsibilities

• Development and further development of scalable, AI-powered enterprise SaaS applications
• Conception and implementation of LLM-based applications and AI agents
• Development of RAG architectures, semantic search solutions, and data processing pipelines
• Integration of APIs, tools, and existing enterprise systems
• Development and optimization of backend components with Python
• Conception, implementation, and validation of complex software architectures
• Setup and optimization of CI/CD pipelines and containerized deployments
• Ensuring quality, security, scalability, and stable production operation
• Use and further development of AI-powered development processes
• Technical consulting and support for architecture and technology decisions

Requirements

• Very good practical experience in software development with Python
• Sound knowledge of relational databases and vector databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, PGVector)
• Experience in developing AI-based applications with Large Language Models (LLMs)
• Very good knowledge of RAG architectures, data ingestion, and semantic search
• Experience with agent orchestration frameworks, ideally LangGraph/LangChain and the OpenAI Responses API
• Experience with API integrations and connecting enterprise systems
• Sound experience with Microsoft Azure and ideally Azure OpenAI or comparable AI services
• Experience with GitLab and CI/CD pipelines
• Practical knowledge of Docker and containerized applications
• Experience with monitoring, logging, and operating productive applications
• Ability for independent conception and implementation of complex technical solutions
