Senior Analytics Engineer (dbt-core / AWS Redshift) - Freelance

Project overview

A new data platform is being established in the company's finance department, which will initially serve specialist departments and later other business units and service centers as a central point of contact for analytics purposes, providing financial and other structured data/data products from a single source. The project is strongly dependent on a parallel ERP/database transformation project, which will create new data sources and require existing data products to be redeveloped and redesigned.

Existing components, some developed in-house, will be replaced by common cloud components and open-source frameworks.

The service provider will perform the following services independently and in a self-organized manner:

• Consulting on the basic setup for dbt usage (development of cross-team conventions)
• Implementation of data pipelines/transformations with the Python open-source library dbt-core regarding conventions, organization of the repository(ies), materializations, and the use of dbt packages for further optimization, as well as the development of custom macros including documentation
• Development of dbt models and macros including documentation and tests according to the client's requirements
• Conducting code reviews
• Consulting on the optimization of dbt transformations for use on AWS Redshift
• Participation in the coordinating meetings of the project developers (Planning, Dailies/Scrums, Retros)
• M1: dbt Analytics Engineering Certification or Fundamental

• M2: Experience in the setup and implementation of complex dbt projects with dbt-core
