Background and Mandate

Our end client from the Swiss banking sector is moving its MS Dynamics CRM landscape to the cloud. This includes not only the migration itself, but also the preparatory work and the ongoing further development on the existing on-premise instances for as long as they are in production. Work takes place in an Agile Release Train according to SAFe around the sales platform, in a team with DevOps engineers, business engineers, scrum master and product owner.

The end client explicitly delimits the profile sought: pure cloud profiles are not suitable for this mandate. Two things are required together: an actually performed migration from on-premise Dynamics CRM to Dynamics 365 Cloud, and experience in operating and maintaining on-premise D365 systems including infrastructure and software lifecycle. Anyone who only knows the target world cannot carry out the preparatory work on the legacy instances.

Technically, several years of D365 development experience with plugins and workflows, sound Azure knowledge, Power Platform as well as data migration and integration with ETL processes and data mapping are also required.

Main Tasks

Mandatory Requirements

• Transfer of the MS Dynamics CRM landscape to the cloud, including planning and execution of the migration steps.
• Preparatory work and further developments on the existing on-premise instances during the migration phase.
• Development of solutions based on MS Dynamics 365: plugins, workflows and custom applications.
• Technical design and implementation of business requirements from the sales environment.
• Development and maintenance of the interfaces to and from MS Dynamics.
• Data migration and integration: building the ETL processes as well as creating and maintaining the data mappings.
• Use of the Power Platform for automations and supplementary applications.
• Collaboration in the Agile Release Train according to SAFe and close coordination with DevOps engineers, business engineers, scrum master and product owner.
• Performed migration (client requirement): documented, self-performed migration from on-premise Dynamics CRM to Dynamics 365 Cloud; not pure cloud experience.
• On-premise operations (client requirement): experience in operating and maintaining on-premise MS Dynamics 365 CRM systems including infrastructure and software lifecycle.
• D365 development: several years of development experience with MS Dynamics 365 CRM, specifically with plugins and workflows.
• Azure: sound knowledge of Azure services.
• Power Platform: experience with Power Automate and Power Apps.
• Interfaces: experience with interfaces to and from MS Dynamics.
• Data migration: knowledge of data migration and integration, ETL processes and data mapping.
• Seniority: senior level with 5 to 8 years of experience in application development.
• Dual role: willingness to continue developing on the legacy landscape in parallel with building the target environment.
• Conceptual strength: ability to transfer business requirements from sales into viable technical concepts.
• Teamwork: confident collaboration in the Scrum team and in the overarching Agile Release Train.
• Languages: German C1 (proficient use).
