Project overview

For a long-term IT project with a client in the public sector in the Stuttgart region, we are looking for several experienced Senior Automation Engineers / Platform Automation Consultants on a freelance basis.

The focus is on the automation, standardization, and further development of complex Linux and open-source platforms.

The specialists deployed will independently take on their areas of responsibility and will be involved in the conception, further development, and implementation of technical solutions, as well as ongoing operations.

• Automation and standardization of complex Linux and open-source infrastructures
• Development, implementation, and maintenance of automation solutions with Ansible, including playbooks and roles
• Automation of provisioning, configuration, deployment, and ongoing operations
• Development and optimization of automation scripts with Shell/Bash and Python, as well as configurations based on YAML
• Integration and further development of automation processes with GitLab and CI/CD pipelines
• Conception and implementation of Infrastructure-as-Code solutions
• Automation and further development of container-based platforms with Docker, Kubernetes, and/or OpenShift
• Automation of patch and lifecycle processes
• Creation of technical concepts as well as maintenance and further development of technical documentation
• Independent support and optimization of the responsible automation and platform solutions
• Participation in the conception and implementation of new technical solutions
• At least 3 years of relevant experience in infrastructure automation
• Several years of experience in Linux and open-source environments
• Profound knowledge of Ansible and the creation and management of playbooks and roles
• Practical experience in the automation of provisioning, configuration, deployment, and operations
• Good knowledge of Shell/Bash, Python, and YAML
• Experience with GitLab and CI/CD processes
• Profound knowledge in the area of Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and/or OpenShift
• Knowledge in the automation of patch and lifecycle processes
• Experience in technical conception and documentation
• Independent, structured, and self-responsible way of working
• German language skills at least at C1 level (mandatory)
• Willingness for occasional on-site assignments in the Stuttgart region
• Existing security clearance or willingness to undergo a security clearance
