Senior AWS Platform Engineer / Terraform Engineer whose primary responsibility is building reusable Terraform modules that are used by application teams across the entire enterprise.

Contract to Hire

Jersey City NJ - Hybrid

The team acts as an internal cloud engineering organization that designs and builds standardized AWS infrastructure patterns for other developers to consume.

The ideal candidate has deep hands-on experience creating Terraform modules from scratch for AWS services such as networking, storage, load balancing, Route53, ECS, and monitoring. They should be comfortable gathering requirements from internal customers, designing new infrastructure patterns, and delivering those solutions through a Git-based CI/CD pipeline.

The team currently supports AWS and will begin building Terraform modules for Google Cloud Platform, so cloud platform experience beyond AWS is a plus but not required. Python is a nice-to-have skill primarily used for AWS Lambda functions and automation. The interview is architecture and scenario-based rather than coding-focused, so candidates must be able to explain design decisions and recommend AWS solutions based on business requirements.
