Project:

For our client in the insurance sector, we are looking for an experienced Senior Business Analyst to support the functional analysis, quality assurance, and further development of data products and reports. You will analyze data using SQL, define functional requirements, and support data quality assurance as well as metadata maintenance. (Reference number: 925329JA)

Responsibilities

• Collection, analysis, and definition of functional requirements for data products and reports
• Creation and maintenance of functional documentation, Q&A documents, and functional aids
• Analysis of data using SQL and identification of data relationships and anomalies
• Definition and further development of quality rules and quality metrics in collaboration with the Product Owner
• Maintenance of functional metadata and conducting functional clarifications on data products, data replications, and data contracts
• Functional review of data models and contribution of functional requirements along the data value chain
• Conducting analyses and requirements engineering, as well as acting as an interface between business departments, system architecture, and development teams; if necessary, taking on Product Owner tasks in the SAFe environment

Role: Business Analyst

• At least 7 years of relevant professional experience as a Business Analyst, Data Steward, or in a comparable role
• Good understanding of insurance business domains, particularly contract management and sales, as well as associated processes, data flows, and data foundations
• Experience in collecting, analyzing, and documenting functional requirements, as well as in requirements engineering
• Knowledge of data quality, data contracts, and metadata management
• Experience with Power BI as well as knowledge of SQL, Databricks, Oracle Database, and Azure SQL
• Strong analytical skills, a structured way of working, and a high level of quality awareness and sense of responsibility for data
• Good communication and coordination skills, as well as experience in collaborating with business departments, IT, development, and enabling teams
• Very good written and spoken German and English for working with English-language documentation and collaborating with offshore teams
