Senior C++ Developer – Financial Technology

Job Overview

We are looking for an experienced C++ Developer with a strong background in financial services and trading systems to join our technology team.

e ideal candidate will have solid hands-on C++ development experience, strong knowledge of Linux/Unix environments, and an understanding of financial markets, particularly equity trading and order management systems (OMS).

Experience with FIX protocol, client connectivity and low-latency systems would be advantageous but is not mandatory. We are particularly interested in candidates who have worked on financial applications and understand order workflows, order lifecycle management and transaction-oriented systems.

Key Responsibilities

Required Skills & Experience

• Design, develop and maintain high-performance C++ applications within a financial technology environment.
• Work on trading platforms, order management systems and order lifecycle processing.
• Develop and enhance scalable, highly available and distributed applications.
• Work with multi-threaded applications, socket programming and complex data structures.
• Collaborate with business analysts, architects, QA teams and other technology stakeholders.
• Troubleshoot complex production issues and provide Level 3 application support.
• Participate in technical discussions, code reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure applications meet performance, reliability, scalability and availability requirements.
• 5–7 years of hands-on C++ development experience, with strong knowledge of:
• Multi-threading and concurrency.
• Data structures and algorithms.
• STL, templates and type casting.
• Pointers and memory management.
• Socket programming and network communication.
• Strong programming experience in a Linux/Unix environment.
• Prior experience working within the financial services or capital markets domain is essential.
• Good understanding of financial trading systems, preferably equity trading.
• Familiarity with order management systems (OMS), order processing and order lifecycle/state handling.
• Experience developing and supporting transaction-oriented applications.
• Ability to investigate and resolve complex technical issues in a production environment.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to both IT and business stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Experience with FIX protocol and FIX message handling.
• Exposure to client connectivity platforms or electronic trading systems.
• Experience with Java, particularly Core Java, Collections and Reflection.
• Exposure to high-performance, high-availability, high-throughput and distributed systems.
• Experience with low-latency application development.
• Knowledge of multi-region equity trading environments.
