Senior Consultant SAP FI/CO – Focus OpenText VIM & E-Invoicing - REMOTE

Project overview

For one of our renowned clients – a leading, internationally active retail group with over 150 locations in Europe – we are looking for freelance support to strengthen the in-house technology team starting November 2026.

Our client is consistently driving the group-wide digitalization of its end-to-end processes – from procurement and logistics to the POS. The current focus is on the modernization and automation of invoice processing. The project's goal is the further development of the existing invoice management solution based on OpenText Vendor Invoice Management (VIM) as well as the technical conception and rollout of future-proof E-Invoicing solutions for the national subsidiaries.

Responsibilities

• Technology Consulting & Architecture: Advising business and IT departments on technology decisions regarding the finance and invoicing landscape
• Customizing & Process Optimization: Conception and customizing of new and optimization of existing financial processes in SAP FI/CO
• OpenText VIM: Functional further development and customizing of the OpenText Vendor Invoice Management platform
• E-Invoicing & Rollouts: Conceptual support and technical implementation of E-Invoicing initiatives as well as support for international rollout activities
• Requirements Engineering & Workshops: Structured requirements analysis, interface specification, and preparation and moderation of interdisciplinary workshops

Requirements

• must-have: Expertise (> 5 years) as a consultant in the SAP environment
• must-have: Sound process and customizing knowledge in SAP FI and SAP CO (min. 3–5 years)
• must-have: Practical experience in implementation projects and rollouts in an enterprise environment
• must-have: Methodological competence in requirements engineering and goal-oriented workshop moderation
• must-have: Strong communication skills at the interface between business departments and IT
• must-have: Negotiable German language skills
• should-have: Practical experience in process and customizing of OpenText Vendor Invoice Management (VIM) (1–3 years)
• should-have: Experience in the context of modern E-Invoicing standards and interfaces (e.g., ZUGFeRD, XRechnung, Peppol)
