Senior Data Engineer / Tech Lead Data

Project overview

We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer for a long-term mission with our client in the banking/finance sector in the Paris region, with a role as a data technical referent within a product team. The program is evolving an initial product, partly based on file exchanges, towards an industrial and multi-country data platform. You will remain very hands-on: you will design, code, and support the team's technical choices.

Profile sought

You have a Master's degree (Bac+5) in IT or data, or equivalent experience, and approximately 7 years of experience in software and data engineering, with responsibility for production pipelines. You are proficient in Python and SQL, Azure or AWS cloud, CI/CD, and monitoring. Databricks, Spark, Kafka, Terraform, or time series are a real plus, as is knowledge of the energy sector. Fluent professional English. You are autonomous, pragmatic, a good communicator, with a product mindset and the desire to constructively challenge vague sources.

• Design and build ingestion pipelines from databases, REST APIs, partner feeds, and files, in batch and near real-time.
• Model high-volume time series and define data models and interface contracts.
• Build tested transformations that produce datasets ready for customer indicator calculation.
• Implement data quality, reconciliation controls, lineage, and monitoring with alerts.
• Deploy with Git, code review, CI/CD, and Infrastructure as Code, respecting data security.
• Lead design reviews, coach developers, and arbitrate between reusing existing components and developing new ones.
• Write runbooks and operational documentation, and participate in Agile ceremonies.
