Job Description

For an insurance company in Lucerne, we are looking for a specialist who will help build and operationalize central data management capabilities as part of a data transformation. The focus is on Data Governance, Data Architecture, Master Data Management (MDM), and Data Quality Management (DQM).

You will not only provide conceptual support but also be involved in concrete implementation and take responsibility for delivering tangible results. The goal is to establish sustainable structures, processes, and artifacts and to further develop the organization along a defined roadmap.

Responsibilities

• Building and operationalizing Data Governance, MDM, and DQM
• Developing target states, governance structures, and role models (RACI)
• Defining and implementing governance processes and architecture models
• Developing MDM domain models and data quality rules
• Building KPI, monitoring, and reporting approaches
• Supporting tooling and setup decisions
• Implementing pilot projects and ensuring handover to operations
• Participating in the implementation of data protection-compliant deletion
• Enabling internal teams and active participation along the roadmap

Requirements

General Framework Conditions:

• Several years of operational experience in Data Governance, Data Architecture, MDM, and DQM
• Strong hands-on and delivery focus
• Demonstrable implementation competence (not purely strategy work)
• Sound knowledge of DAMA and Data Lifecycle Management
• Experience in regulated or complex organizations (e.g., insurance, finance)
• Experience with governance toolchains
• Experience in agile organizations
• Advantage: Knowledge in AI in Data Management, Knowledge Graphs, or Architecture Frameworks
• Start: asap
• Workload: 80-100%
• Work location: Lucerne (Remote by arrangement)
