Senior Data Scientist Python – Time Series Forecasting (MAX €520)

Project overview

For a major retail player, we are looking for a senior Data Scientist to join a Data & Analytics team of about ten Data Scientists and Data Engineers. The challenge: to improve e-commerce sales forecasting to better manage product availability, inventory, and logistics. New projects, with high criticality.

Work environment

Integration into an existing, multidisciplinary, and senior team of over 12 people (Data Scientists and Data Engineers), using agile Scrum methodology, in direct contact with Supply Chain business teams.

Technical environment: Python, SQL, GCP, Scikit-learn, TensorFlow / PyTorch, Git, CI/CD, Sonar, data and model versioning, observability, Matplotlib / Seaborn / Plotly.

• Define needs with the Supply Chain business teams and present the results to them
• Analyze historical data: seasonality, trends, promotional effects, exogenous events
• Design, train, and optimize time series forecasting models
• Define and monitor reliable evaluation metrics
• Industrialize modeling pipelines on GCP with Data Engineers
• Work on model explainability to facilitate their adoption by the business
• Remote work: 3 days / week (2 days on site)
• More than 7 years of experience in Python Data Science
• Mastery of time series forecasting algorithms
• Python (Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn) and advanced SQL on large volumes
• Clean, modular, tested, and versioned code, integrated into production pipelines
• Experience in retail / mass distribution is a real plus
• Master's degree (engineering school or university), fluent French
