Senior Delphi / PostgreSQL Developer

Project overview

For our client, we are looking for an experienced expert in Delphi/Pascal development and data migration to take on a central role in modernizing an existing legacy application. The focus is on transforming DBF-based data storage to a modern PostgreSQL architecture and integrating e-prescription functionalities. We are looking for a specialist who can conceptually and operationally manage the migration while continuing to develop the existing system landscape stably.

Responsibilities

• Analysis and evaluation of an existing Pascal/Delphi application with a DBF database structure
• Conception and implementation of the migration from DBF to PostgreSQL
• Integration of e-prescription functionalities into the existing software architecture
• Development of a step-by-step migration strategy without interrupting ongoing operations
• Close coordination with project management and relevant stakeholders
• Documentation of architectural decisions and modernization steps

Requirements

• Several years of experience in development with Pascal/Delphi
• Experience in migrating legacy systems
• Sound knowledge of PostgreSQL (development and administration)
• Experience with DBF file structures and data conversion
• Knowledge in the healthcare sector, ideally in the context of e-prescriptions
• Experience with step-by-step system modernization
• Strong communication and coordination skills
