Senior DevOps Engineer – Azure Data Platform

Description

For our client in the financial sector, we are looking for an experienced DevOps Engineer for the build, further development, and operation of a cloud-based data platform. You will support the expansion with new data integrations and the creation of a data catalog.

• Further development and operation of a productive Azure data platform for analytical applications
• Configuration and management of Azure Storage Accounts and Azure Kubernetes Services using Terraform, Helm Charts, and GitLab
• Automation of build, test, and release processes for development, test, and production environments
• Development of technical concepts for Kafka, Spark, API interfaces, batch processing, and data catalogs
• Coordination of the architecture with IT Security and Domain Architecture, considering regulatory requirements
• Implementation of monitoring and alerting, for example with Grafana and Azure Dashboards
• Support for connected applications with onboarding, integration, and operational issues

Requirements

• Several years of experience as a Senior DevOps Engineer, ideally five to eight years
• Sound experience in building and operating productive cloud data platforms with Lakehouse technologies such as Apache Iceberg or Delta Lake
• Very good knowledge of Git, GitLab, Docker, and Terraform
• In-depth knowledge of Azure services, especially AKS and Storage Accounts, or comparable cloud services
• Solid understanding of authentication and authorization with Microsoft Entra ID, RBAC, and OAuth
• Knowledge in software development with Python and/or Java
• Ability to develop technical concepts and represent them to security and architecture managers
• German at C2 level and English at B2 level
