Senior DevOps Engineer

Project overview

For our client, a renowned bank in Zurich, we are looking for an experienced DevOps Engineer to actively shape the development of an innovative GenAI platform through consulting, technical conception, and development.

Please note that due to current Swiss legislation, we can only consider applications from Swiss citizens, EU citizens, and individuals with a valid work permit.

Remote work from abroad is not possible.

Responsibilities

• Profound knowledge of DevOps toolchains (e.g., Git, Gitlab, Docker, Terraform) to provide and operate platform services state-of-the-art.
• In-depth knowledge of Azure Cloud services: Azure API Management, AKS, Azure Functions, OpenAI, AI Search, Document Intelligence, Azure Foundry, Storage Accounts.
• Knowledge in the DevOps area, including the use of monitoring tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Azure Monitor), logging systems, and alerting to ensure high availability.
• Project experience with GenAI technologies, including Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) and Agentic AI, as well as experience in optimizing GenAI solutions is an advantage.
• Ability to develop concepts and architectural solutions and to represent them to IT Security and Domain Architecture is an advantage.
• Profound understanding of authentication and authorization procedures using Azure EntraID, RBAC, and OAuth concepts is an advantage.
• Knowledge in software development with Python and/or Java is an advantage.

Soft Skills

• Configuration and management of Azure Cloud resources, particularly API Management, Foundry, OpenAI, AI Search, Document Intelligence, as well as Kubernetes-based applications like Langfuse as "Infrastructure-as-Code" with Terraform, HelmChart, and Gitlab.
• Automation of build, test, and release processes for GenAI applications (LLMOps) to ensure frequent and reliable releases in development, test, and production environments.
• Participation in the development of technical concepts for the implementation of new requirements for the GenAI platform, as well as its ongoing development and optimization. All components (databases, LLM models and other AI services, applications), efforts, ongoing operations with various client applications, and especially company-wide and regulatory requirements must be considered and coordinated.
• Implementation of mechanisms for monitoring and alerting (e.g., Grafana and Azure Dashboard) to ensure the stability and efficiency of the platform.
• Support of the client application with conceptual questions, integrations (onboarding), and operational issues.
• Monitoring of system performance, uptime, and logs to identify and resolve problems early.
• New and further development of code-based implementations for, for example, authorization checks, logging/monitoring, routing logic, guardrail validations with Java, Python, XML, C# (APIM Policies).
• Fluent German and English skills.
• High degree of personal responsibility and flexibility.
• Team player with good communication skills.
