Job description
Seeking a Senior Environmental Lawyer to handle legal defense, advise on permits, and strengthen legal expertise within the team. Requires experience in objection and appeal procedures, permitting, and enforcement.
Project overview
Profile of the suited interim professional:
- Drafting defense statements and decisions on objections within the applicable deadlines
- Conducting defense on behalf of the Mayor and Aldermen (College van B&W) at the objections committee, the court, and the Council of State
- Advising the Permits cluster on legal positions
- Contributing to strengthening legal expertise within the team
- Thorough preparation of hearings, both substantively and in writing
- Completed Law degree at a minimum of HBO bachelor level
- Minimum of 7 years of work experience as a senior environmental law lawyer, including in the areas of objection and appeal procedures, permit granting, and enforcement at a municipality and/or environmental agency
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in the field of permit granting, supervision, and enforcement within environmental law
- Experience in acting on behalf of an administrative body in objection and appeal procedures
- Availability for evening sessions, approximately one to two Wednesday evenings per month
