Experienced financial accountant needed to independently manage German annual financial statements (HGB/IFRS) and act as a key contact for external auditors. The role involves operational support for the finance team during peak closing periods.

For our client, we are looking for an experienced accounting specialist. In this position, you will independently manage the German annual financial statements according to HGB and IFRS. You will also act as a central point of contact for external auditors and provide operational support to the finance team during peak closing periods.

- Annual Financial Statements & Auditing: Independent management of German annual financial statements (preparation of documents, account specifications, and supporting documents for external auditors).
- Account Reconciliation & Cleanup: Performing balance sheet and general ledger reconciliations, cleaning up open/overdue items, and clarifying discrepancies up to the final booking.
- Financial Reporting HGB & IFRS: Preparation and booking of HGB and IFRS adjustments within the scope of the German individual financial statements and group reporting.
- ERP & Analyses: Mapping all transactions and adjustments in Microsoft Dynamics; performing account analyses and variance checks.
- Audit Interface & Ad-hoc: Direct contact for auditor inquiries and operational support for the finance team during peak closing periods.
- Experience: Several years of in-depth practical experience in accounting, controlling, or auditing (ideally in the international SME or scale-up environment).
- Expertise: Audit-proof knowledge of HGB and proven knowledge of IFRS group reporting.
- Systems: Routine handling of Microsoft Dynamics is mandatory; excellent Excel skills.
- Work Approach: Hands-on mentality, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to independently handle complex issues without supervision.
- Languages: Fluent English in an international project environment as well as very good German
